The following sections are available from WordBase:-

Note:-

Record Navigation

Located in the Edit + Record menu.

To facilitate changing the current record using keystrokes and thus enabling detail text to be viewed. The record shown is dependent on the Order selected for the data.

These functions are also available by the Navigator buttons

Edit Record

Located in the Edit + Record menu.

Enables your current document detail, ie if the 'User' field is identical to the logon Teacher Name to be changed and saved. This restriction does not apply to the system administrator.

Located in the Edit + Record menu.

Deletes your current document record, ie if the 'User' field is identical to the logon User Name. This restriction does not apply to the system administrator.

Delete record using the Ctrl+Del shortcut keys is disabled when the document area has focus, to prevent misshap. To use these keys in detail mode, click on a field on the Index Data panel say the Subject edit box, then use the Ctrl + Delete combination.

Private Mode which is located in the Edit Menu and on the Index Data Panel, when checked prevents other users from viewing or coping document detail. The system administrator is not restricted.

Quit Edit disregards ALL changes made since the last 'softsave', can also be activated using the keys Ctrl+Q or by using the X button on the navigator.

Undo and Redo are located in Menu click (usually Right button) of pointing device. The menu item advises the type of action, such as Undo Input. (also available from Edit menu)

Please Note:- The above is not the same as Undo using Ctrl+Z which just removes the last edit action, the function can have a major effect if the 'tick' button (right of the navigator buttons) is not used regularly.

Text Functions

Located in Edit menu and Menu click (usually Right button) of pointing device to show, plus on Toolbar (stage 7 and above).

Once selected block text reacts to these menu functions.

The traditional direct keystrokes have also been implemented.

The options in this section operate with the 'Clipboard' facility, which also enables text export and import from any program with a similar facility, (ie 'Notepad' 'WordPad' and most other proper text/word processors).

If a menu item is shown grey then text is not selected or in the case of Paste the contents of the clipboard are Nil or unsuitable.
